POWs Of Russia

P.O.W's of Russia
POW stands for Prisoner Of War. The German POWs that were captured were tared and seen as people that destroyed vast areas in western Russia and killed millions.
Twice weekly, German POW’s received lessons in Communism, but there is no evidence that this met with any success.
                                                                 Communist Flag
The people that were captured were used to rebuild what they destroyed.
The Germans captured 91,000 alive after the battle of Stalingrad.
After the war Germans carried hard labor in extreme weather conditions, many died from lack of food and disease.

The German POWs were expected to rebuild Russia, and people thought it would take 20 years but was completed in 3 years. Many died from malnutrition and diseases associated with it. To Russians the work was more important then the people who died.
The Prisoners were in 3 classes

Those who exceeded the work required for them - they were given extra rations
Those who completed the required work - got the basic amount of rations
Those who did not complete there work -  got little to nothing
Starving Germans

1) What are the colors of the communist flag?
2) Are the Russians staying true to their beliefs if they are not treating everyone equal?

Nazism

National Socialist German Workers' Party: the political party founded in Germany in 1919 and brought to power by Hitler in 1933.

The Nazi party has 8 layers,
the first layer was the Fuehrer – Adolf Hitler.
The second layer was made up of the Reich Leaders – men who had been given specific appointments within the party such as the party treasurer.
Below them came the third layer – the regional inspectors.
The fourth layer – Gauleiters – became very powerful men as they were given a district to govern.
Below the Gauleiters came the fifth layer – the Kreisleiter. Each Gau was subdivided into smaller administrative units – the Kreis.
Below the Kreisleiters came the local group leaders who as their title suggested was responsible for a local group – the Ortsgruppe.
The Nazi Party was furthered divided up for administrative reasons. Below the Ortsgruppenleiters came the Zellenleiters – cell leaders.
The lowest level of administration was the Blockwart – the block warden.

Nazism follows the same political party laws/qualities as Fascism.

 Questions:
1. What is the party name for Nazism?
2. Which layer of the 8 would you rather be and why? Keep in mind you are helping Hitler do terrible things.

Hitler's Rise to Power

Hitler was a great public speaker to make people support him. The moderate political parties would not work together, although together they had more support than the Nazis. The depression of 1929 created poverty and unemployment, which made people angry with the Weimar government. People lost confidence in the democratic system and turned towards the extremest political parties such as Communist and Nazis during the depression.

Nazi storm troopers attacked Hitler's opponents. Goebbels propaganda campaign was very effective and won support for the Nazis. The Nazis targeted specific groups of society with different slogans and policies to win their support. Hitler was given power in a seedy political deal by Hindenburg and Papen who thought they could control him. German people were still angry about the treaty of Versailles and supported Hitler because he promised to over turn it. Industrialists gave Hitler money and support.

Haters gonna hate potatoes gonna potate

Questions
1.  Is Hindenburg a zeppelin or a person?
2.   Should Hitler be considered a good leader even though he took the lives of many but put Germany into great power?
